Keano Robinson’s goal helped Cambridge City hold promotion-chasing Sutton Coldfield Town to a 1-1 draw in Evo-Stik League South, Division One Central.

Coldfield were a place outside the play-offs going into the game, and City’s task was made harder when Seb Simpson was sent off for a foul in the 43rd minute.

The challenge got steeper on the stroke of half time as Jonathon Letford fired Coldfield ahead.

City dug deep, and they were rewarded for their efforts in the 89th minute as Robinson powered a header into the Sutton net.

The Lilywhites are at home to Kidlington this Saturday (April 6).

Meanwhile, Cambridge City Supporters’ Trust have a new chairman.

Ken Anderson stepped down from the role after five years at the AGM in January.

Steve Plumb will take over the reigns, and become the Supporters’ Trust representative on the club board.

“Firstly, thank you to Ken for being chairman for the last five years and to the trust board for having faith in me at this exciting time in our push towards Sawston [and the new stadium],” said Plumb.

“The next few years will be busy and I look forward to working with the club and the supporters to build our new home.

“In the next few months we will be engaging with the people of Sawston at their fun run and school fetes - this will be the start of becoming part of the community.”
