Under-16s pounce for cup victory

Luca Vicini helped Cambridge Cats under-16s mark the start of their new season with a 66-65 win over Ipswich in the National League Cup.

In the first round of the competition against the Premier League side, the young Cats were trailing by six points with less than three minutes on the clock.

They fought back through baskets from Leon Wedderburn and Vicini, who scored the winning basket with just 1.8sec remaining.

Nico Del Maestro then sealed the win with a steal on the Ipswich inbound pass.

Vicini had come off the bench to score 20 points, while Del Maestro and Dan Batcheler chipped in with 10 each.
