Leah Grace Wagstaff had golden glory at the England Athletics Open Under-20/Under-17 and Under-15 Indoor Championships.

The Cambridge & Coleridge AC member was competing in the under-15 age group at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.

She was the third fastest qualifier in 9.27, and was the fastest across the semi-finals in 9.03, which was in the third of three. In the final, Wagstaff dropped under nine seconds to win in a personal best 8.95sec, with Tonbridge AC’s Elicia Lacey second in 8.99.

The time puts Wagstaff 13th in the all-time list for that event and age group.

Clubmate David MacQueen narrowly missed out on a medal in the under-17 boys’ long jump with a leap of 6.40m, 5cm off third-placed Dante Clarke.

C&C's Serena Blackwood was sixth in the first semi-final of the under-20 women's 60m in 7.93.

Cambridge University’s Louise Shanahan had a good weekend at the AAI Indoor Games & Indoor League Final.

She was representing Leevale AC in Cork in the 1,500m, and crossed the line first in a personal best 4min 24.25sec to help the team take the women’s league title, with their men's team also victorious.

C&C’s Holly Archer opened the indoor season with a PB, clocking 4.35.89 in the mile at the David Hemery Valentine International in Boston, USA.
