Stutes are pegged back twice

Lee Smith struck twice as Histon were held to a 2-2 draw by Kirkley & Pakefield in Thurlow Nunn League, Premier Division.

Histon broke the deadlock in the 13th minute as Max York’s long throw into the box was flicked on by Evan Key for Smith to head in at the back post.

Kirkley were back on level terms in the 27th minute, with Gary Williams heading in Tarrent Grint’s precise cross.

A minute after half time, Histon restored their lead.

Danny Gould used his pace to go past the defence, and his cut back into the area was met by Smith on the volley.

But Kirkley equalised in the 75th minute, with Dylan Blades scoring from 10 yards out to leave the teams with a share of the spoils.
