Lee Yearn and Ed Dimambro shared the honours in the Cambridgeshire Area Golf Union County Championship.

The competition was staged at Ely City Golf Club, and after the duo tied on 145 after the two rounds, they could still not be separated after a four-hole play-off.

With light diminishing, the decision was made that they would share the title.

The leader after the first round was defending champion Luke Ryan, with 71. Gog Magog’s Dimambro was one of five players to shoot 72, and Ely City’s Yearn hit 73.

In the afternoon, Yearn fired 72 and Dimambro 73, but a 75 saw Ryan have to settle for third place after finishing with 146.

The joint victory meant it was a 10th county crown for Yearn, and a second for Dimambro.

Alex Kephart was fourth on countback from Luke Bowers and David Marris, after all three shot 148.

Leaderboard: 145 - Lee Yearn (Ely City) (73, 72), Ed Dimambro (Gog Magog) (72, 73); 146 - Luke Ryan (Ely City) (71, 75); 148 - Alex Kephart (Gog Magog) (73, 75), Luke Bowers (Gog Magog) (72, 76), David Marris (Links GC) (72, 76).
