Captain Lewys Hill led Cambridge home as they battled to a two-wicket win over Burwell & Exning in the Read Brothers Ltd East Anglian Premier League.

Burwell & Exning were put in to bat, and the best they could muster was a partnership of 27 – which was for the final wicket between James Turner and Maddox Colby.

Andrew Bramley top-scored with 34, and his wicket was one of three dismissals where the score did not move from 79.

The visitors were bowled out for 123, with Hill taking three for 19 off 8.5 overs.

Cambridge found it equally hard going with the bat.

They were 8 for 3 at one point, and 37 for 5. Peter Younghusband hit 34 and Kieren Mackenzie made 23, but they were tied down by Bramley’s five for 29.

However, Hill’s 33 off 33 balls took Cambridge to victory with 125 for 8.
