Luca Randall and Jake Plumb savour British Junior Golf Tour success
Home glory for duo
Luca Randall and Jake Plumb maintained their excellent early season form as they clinched first prizes in the British Junior Golf Tour event at Cambridge Meridian Golf Club.
Randall, 8, who is a member at Meridian as well as Bourn, carded two birdies in the last three holes to win his age category for the second successive event by three from Littlestone’s Arthur Saunders.
Plumb, who carded the joint-best Challenge Division net score in the previous competition at The Bedford, held the top spot on his own this time as shot a magnificent round of net 61.
The 25-handicapper, who plays his golf at Bourn, finished four strokes ahead of Northampton’s Leah Ribano. Peterborough Milton’s Jacob Williams had the best gross round.
Manato Nakatani and Zac Castledine secured the elite gross and net plaudits respectively, while Charles Ward won the nine to 10 age group and Matthew Whitaker was first in the six and under category.
Bourn is hosting the fifth round of the Super Six Series on Sunday, April 23.
