Sawston-based driver goes close at Brands Hatch

Lucas Orrock was edged out of a second podium finish of the season as the Renault Clio Cup campaign was brought to an end at Brands Hatch.

The Sawston-based Team Pyro driver had finished in sixth place in the opening race of the weekend, with team-mate Mike Bushell taking first place.

But in the second race, Orrock was battling for third with James Dorlin when Pyro’s Jack McCarthy passed the duo at Graham Hill Bend.

Orrock kept going in fourth after Dorlin was badly delayed, and it was a position that he held on to for a lonely finish as championship winner Bushell took another victory.

Orrock, who took his first podium spot by finishing second in round 16 at Silverstone, ended the season in 11th place.

He finished with 199 points, with 10th-placed team-mate Nathan Harrison earning 228.
