Mark Bonner has urged Cambridge United supporters to watch a documentary produced to showcase the work of the club's community trust.

Cambridge United Community Trust produced an impact report, entitled United for Cambridge, a couple of weeks ago, and as a follow-up they staged an impact evening to showcase their work in the city during the past year.

At his weekly press call, the U's head coach implored fans that may have missed its initial airing on Wednesday night to catch up with it on the social media channels to get an insight to what is being delivered in the city.

“I have to mention the fact that if you haven’t seen the community trust documentary that went live last night on the impact of the last year during the pandemic, then you should watch it,” said Bonner.

“We’ve got a team we want to be proud of, we’re in a position that we’re loving and we want to keep pushing to improve and get better, but at the same time, we’re so much more than that.

“If you watch that, you should be proud of our club at the minute.

“We will keep trying to win games, of course, but we want to keep impacting the city as well. We’re making massive progress across the club as well.”

Bonner also thanked supporters for their faithful following online.

On the iFollow streaming service, the 2-1 win at Carlisle United last weekend broke their previous record of 1,312, as they sold 1,466 passes - and they got to witness Paul Mullin's history-breaking goal-scoring feat.

“I think we have to mention the fact that yet again our supporters broke a record this week with their numbers following us on iFollow which is great and no surprise - I guess reflective of what would be happening now in the stadium,” said Bonner.

“More people would be coming to watch because they want to watch us, they want to see the improvements we’re making.

“We know they are coming because we’ve given them something worth coming to, so that’s exciting."
