Katie Curtis and Megan Crowson have been named in the Investec Women’s Hockey League, Conference East team of the year.

The Cambridge City duo played a key part in helping the team to third place in the table, with Crowson top scorer in the division with 18 goals.

It caps a good month for Curtis, who was one of three youngsters from City named in England junior squads for tournaments in Holland this Easter.

Curtis is in the under-18s squad, Imi Swann is with the under-16s and Eddie Harper has been selected for England men’s under-18s and also invited to attend a two-day England under-21 EDP training camp.

At the other end of the spectrum, City’s Phil Mathison has been named in the Scotland men’s masters over-35s squad for the Home Nations competition in Glasgow from June 28 to 30.
