Meg Crowson is excited at the prospect of carrying on her Cambridge City form with Great Britain in China this week.
The 22-year-old is top scorer in the Investec Women’s Hockey League, Conference East after scoring a hat-trick as City stayed top thanks to a 3-2 win over Hampstead & Westminster.
Next stop for Crowson is China, as part of the GB Women’s Elite Development Programme (EDP) squad for a Four Nations tournament from November 2.
“It was a brilliant team performance on Saturday and it was great to get the win It is a confidence boost going into the China trip,” said Crowson, who will face China, Australia and Germany with GB under-23s.
“I was very excited when I found out I’d been selected.
“GB EDP is a brilliant squad to be a part of. Although we don’t train together on a weekly basis, when we come together at training camps there is always a buzz around the squad and we train hard and have fun at the same time.”
She added: “We’ve been developing in lots of areas over the past few months as a squad so we will be looking to bring them all together for the trip to China to get results.”
