U's maintain unbeaten run

Monty Bouttell hit a hat-trick as Cambridge United Futsal drew 5-5 with Birmingham Futsal in the FA National Futsal Super League.

Looking to avenge a 6-3 defeat at home earlier in the season, the U’s made the trip to the Midlands on the back of six matches unbeaten.

United had a depleted squad, but started the game well and took the lead through Bouttell’s solo effort.

Birmingham equalised and went 2-1 up at the break.

Bouttell grabbed an equaliser a minute into the second half, and completed his hat-trick to make it 3-2.

United had the wind in their sails and Angel Martinez weighed in with two goals, near identical chip finishes over the onrushing keeper, to make it 5-2.

But Birmingham regrouped and pulled one back, before getting two more goals in the remaining five minutes to earn a draw that keeps the U’s fifth in the table.
