Nnamdi Nwachuku switch to Cambridge City falls through
Cambridge City have had to clarify the status of Nnamdi Nwachuku.
It was announced by the Lilywhites last week that they had brought in prolific former Coggeshall striker from Marlow.
Nwachuku had been due to sign the paperwork at Brentwood on Saturday, even though he was not fit to play, but the match was postponed so the ex-Welling man was due to complete the move at training this week.
Manager Robbie Nightingale released the Gyasi brothers, Michael and Joel, this Monday morning. However, on Monday afternoon, Nwachuku phoned the City boss to say that he would not be signing.
Meanwhile, Chris Regis requested to be released by City to play at a higher level.
And centre-back Derek Ubah has been recalled by Bedford Town at the end of his loan spell.
City’s trip to Brentwood and Histon’s home clash with Romford were both postponed last weekend.
