Nominations are open for the annual Living Sport Sports Awards.

The annual countywide event, which is being hosted at Burgess Hall in St Ives on November 28, seeks to recognise and celebrate the sporting achievements on and off the pitch.

There are 12 categories, which include sports performance, young sports performance, young community volunteer, community volunteer, coach, community club (amateur), services to sport, school, workplace, impact, Jonnie Peacock award and Matthew Warn Power of Sport award.

Simon Fairhall, chief executive of Living Sport said: "Our awards have been developed to link more closely with our work to improve health and wellbeing by supporting people to

get active, increasingly recognising the contribution of sport to wider outcomes of physical wellbeing, mental wellbeing, social and community development, economic development and personal


"These awards are a highlight of our year and are a fantastic opportunity to recognise the outstanding contribution made by people and organisations and the positive impact that participating in sport and physical activity can have."

Tickets to attend the Awards ceremony can be purchased from Living Sport by contacting jayne.thacker@livingsport.co.uk. Tickets to attend this exciting celebration of local sport will cost £45

per person and include pre-dinner drink and canapes and a two course dinner as part of the evenin. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
