Oliver Jarvis to race for third season in 2020 IMSA SportsCar Championship
Oliver Jarvis will race for Mazda Team Joest in the 2020 IMSA SportsCar Championship in the United States.
The 35-year-old Burwell-based driver will partner with US racer Tristan Nunez for a third season in the No 77 Mazda RT24-P.
The duo secured their first victory in July at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, and went on to finish on the podium three more times during the 2019 campaign. Jarvis also qualified on pole three times.
Jarvis and Nunez will be joined in the Michelin Endurance Cup rounds by France’s Olivier Pla, who moves over from the No 55 Mazda RT24-P and was part of the Mazda line-up that took victory at the Six Hours of the Glen last June.
“I’m thrilled to continue with Mazda Team Joest and continue my partnership with Tristan with the aim of adding to our number of wins and podiums which we had this season,” said Jarvis.
“I think, as a whole, we are very confident in the package we have at Mazda Team Joest for the 2020 season.
“I’ve seen the level of competition increase each season in the IMSA championship, so the team has been hard at work throughout the off-season to give us the best opportunity to fight for the championship in 2020.”
