Shelford Rugby Club head to Tring to kick off 2024 in the Regional 1 South East
Shelford will look to kickstart a more consistent second half of the season when they travel to face Tring on Saturday (January 6).
The Peacocks headed into the Christmas break on the back of a mixed run of form in the Regional 1 South East, having won seven and lost six of their 13 encounters.
Those results have left Will Cotterill’s team sitting fourth in the table, 14 points adrift of a table-topping Colchester side that have lost just twice and also have a game in hand.
When Shelford hosted Tring in the reverse fixture back in September they edged a high-scoring encounter 35-27.
And they will be hoping that Louie Tang will continue his fine performances so far this term having run in 12 tries – six more than any other player in the division. Shelford’s Lewis Cracknell, meanwhile, is the third highest points scorer in the league with 85.
Elsewhere, Cantabrigian will return to action after breaking for Christmas with a trip to Diss in the Counties 1 Eastern Counties on Saturday (January 6).
Seventh-placed Cantabs, who have lost two of their last three outings, are just one point adrift of fourth-placed Ipswich.
Upcoming opponents Diss are currently sitting in ninth position.
