Cambridge City announce departure of former Brentford and Bishop’s Stortford playmaker Aaron Greene
Cambridge City have announced the departure of Aaron Greene.
The playmaker joined the Lilywhites during the summer following spells with the likes of Brentford, Bishop’s Stortford, Boston United, Chelmsford City, AFC Sudbury and Enfield.
He went on to make 21 appearances for Jamie Cureton’s side, from which he scored four goals.
However, the 1-1 draw at home with Mildenhall Town on New Year’s Day has proved to be Greene’s last outing in a City shirt.
City, who announced the arrival Sam Carter from fellow Pitching In Isthmian League North Division side Tilbury over the weekend, will begin life without Greene on Tuesday (7 January) when they travel over the Norfolk border to lock horns with Wroxham.
Cureton’s men go into the game at Trafford Park unbeaten in their last five league games, four of which have been victories.
Following the trip to Wroxham, 10th-placed City will also be on their travels on Saturday (11 January) when face bottom-of-the-table Ipswich Wanderers at Humber Doucy Lane.
