Sasha Tristram makes impression for Cambridge City under-15s




Lilywhites teams scoop a number of opening day wins

Debutant Sasha Tristram fired four goals as Cambridge City won 8-0 against a spirited Godmanchester Rovers in the S-Tech Girls’ League. Under-15 Division,

Striker Yael Benjamin grabbed two, Ella Compton struck one and Tiana Walker scored the goal of the game, beating a couple of defenders before unleashing a terrific strike.

It was also a good performance from the defence as they kept a clean sheet and played an instrumental role in starting attacks.

Cambridge City A under-14s triumphed 13-0 over ICA Peterborough in their first 11-a-side game.

A bright start helped them build up a 9-0 lead by half time.

Cambridge City under-14s B lost 3-2 to Cottenham United in an exciting encounter.

Lucy Short notched a hat-trick as Cambridge City under-13s triumphed 7-0 over Comberton Crusaders in the S-Tech Girls’ League, Under-13A Division.

It was a clash between the A and B league winners, and City took the lead when Short set up Bella Axelsson to open the scoring, and Leah Holmes made it 2-0 at the break.

In the second half, Short got a hat-trick and Emily White and Erin Burling scored one apiece as City’s power and pace overwhelmed the hosts.

Cambridge City under-12s secured a 12-1 win over Cambourne in their first league match playing nine versus nine.
