Shane Norval bags top-three finishes in the Team Respro MRO600 Championship

Shane Norval earned two third-place finishes in his season debut in the Team Respro MRO600 Championship as the British Motorcycle Racing Club and MRO Championships was staged at Snetterton.

The Cambridge-based former British Superbike rider was riding a European Shoe Machinery Yamaha R6. The race was held alongside the MSS Performance Clubman 600 Championship, and Norval qualified 10th overall, and sixth in class.

In the short five-lap race, Norval was fourth but closing on the leading trio at the finish.

The second race saw Norval take fifth place.

The races were extended to seven laps on day two, and Norval took third place in the opening event – having got up to second at one point – and repeated the feat in the second race.

Fellow Cambridge rider Nick Bedford held firm in third place across the weekend.

Competing in the GP class of the Blue Haze 2-Strokes, Bedford qualified his Banks Race Paint Yamaha TZ350 in 10th overall, and third in class.

In the two five-lap sprint races, consistent riding saw Bedford take two third-place finishes in class.

It was the same story in the two seven-lap races, as Bedford was third in both to retain sixth overall in the championship.
