Lesley Sonnen and Leanne Robinson will be flying the flag for Shelford Rugby Club at the International Police Rugby Championship in Hong Kong.

The Shelford Women players have been named in the British Police Women's final squad for the tournament, which runs from September 19 to 28.

Sonnen had been with Shelford for several years before joining Old Albanian last season to prepare for the event, but she returned to Shelford this pre-season.

Robinson started playing for Shelford two years ago and she has made a big impact on the team, with her strict discipline and determination to be picked for the British squad for Hong Kong inspiring a lot of old and new players. She is also vice-captain of Shelford Women.

There was further good news for Shelford Women.

Former prop and Anglia Ruskin University student Jodie Turl has signed a contract with Saracens Women.

She started playing rugby with ARU before joining Shelford. Her performances earned several club awards, and secured a spot in the East Counties' women's squad.
