Shelford youngsters get Leicester Tigers masterclass

Skills and techniques learnt at Welford Road

Youngsters from Shelford Rugby Club honed their skills at a Leicester Tigers Matchday Coaching Clinic.

The youth team from the Davey Field club took part in the session befor Tigers’ recent match against Worcester Warriors.

Shelford’s players developed their individual and team skills, as well as taking tips and techniques to practice for the rest of the season, before getting the opportunity to quiz Tigers’ development players Sam Lewis and Tommy Reffell.

Shelford coach Steve Dennington accompanied the team for their photo alongside Tigers wing Tom Brady at half-time.

And he said: “The children have really enjoyed it and we’ve all had really good fun.

“The whole day has been really good, the coaching clinic, the Q&A with players and then to be here for the match.”
