Cambridge United midfielder Lewis Simper makes loan move to National League side Wealdstone
Cambridge United midfielder Lewis Simper has joined Wealdstone on loan until the end of the campaign.
The 21-year-old, who has made 16 appearances for the U’s this term, had been due to spend the rest of the season at Woking after joining the National League high fliers on a loan deal last month.
However, after struggling to force his way into the starting line-up – and sometimes the matchday squad – United recalled Simper last week from his stint at the Kingfield Stadium.
But he has now headed back out to Wealdstone, who are eighth in the National League table.
Wealdstone are currently without midfielders Ashley Charles and Alex Dyer due to international call-ups, meaning Simper could be in line to make his debut for the club during Saturday's home encounter against Barnet.
