Youngsters thrive at championships

St Alban’s A were victorious in the Cambridge School Sports Partnership High Fives Netball B Championships.

More than 120 Year 5 and 6 pupils in 12 teams took part in the event at Netherhall School, with Netherhall leaders assisting with the championships.

The teams were split into three groups, with each team playing the other teams in their group before having a ranking match to determine the finishing positions.

St Alban’s A were the plate winners, with William Westley second and St Laurence in third.

Burwell earned the spirit of the games award for demonstrating great passion throughout the championships.

Lisa Woolfe, Cambridge SSP projects officer said: “Congratulations to everyone who took part and represented their school. The standard was high and the atmosphere exciting and competitive.”
