Stephen Perse Foundation seal Cambridgeshire County Schools' Netball double
And Hills Road are also triumphant
Hills Road Sixth Form College and two teams from the Stephen Perse Foundation have been crowned Cambridgeshire County Schools’ Netball champions in their respective age groups.
The under-19s did battle at Impington Village College, with the ultimate aim for all teams competing in the tournament to represent Cambs at the regional tournament in January.
Hills Road won the under-19s event, with The Perse School in second place.
The under-16 and under-14 age groups were contested at The Perse School, with more than 150 girls taking part.
There were nine under-16 teams, and emerging triumphant was the undefeated Stephen Perse Foundation team, ahead of Hinchingbrooke School after some close-fought games.
In the under-14 section, 11 teams took part and Stephen Perse completed a double, beating St Mary’s into second place.
County chair Olivia Petherick presented the awards and said: “This is my favourite thing to come to each year. There has been some brilliant netball played and I know that netball in the county is in safe hands with these players coming through.”
