Histon record first away clean sheet of the season during trip to face G.N.G Oadby

Histon recorded their first away clean sheet of the season during last weekend’s 0-0 draw at G.N.G Oadby Town.

Uhlsport United Counties League Premier Division South matches involving the home side have been littered with goals this term.

A total of 125 had been scored in Oadby’s 25 outings prior to Saturday, but neither they nor the visiting Stutes were able to make an impact on the scoreline as the spoils were shared.

Histon boss Chris Nunn said: “The discipline we showed was incredible at times.

“We played against a free-scoring team and restricted them to one shot on target.

“We got stronger as the game went on and the all-round performance deserved the three points.”

The draw has kept Histon in 16th position in the table ahead of their return to the comforts of Bridge Road on Saturday (January 13) following back-to-back away fixtures.

League-leading Racing Club Warwick will be Histon’s visitors – a side that edged the reverse fixture between the two sides 2-1 back in November.

Histon will go into the encounter still unbeaten from Nunn’s four home matches in charge of the club.
