Outstanding performances from The Perse Scholl under-12 and under-14 girls’ hockey teams has seen them achieve regional success in their respective age group competitions.

The under-12s added the East title to their county crown after winning all seven matches in their tournament at Redbridge.

They topped their group with wins over Colfe’s School (3-0), Haileybury (1-0) and Bedford Girls’ School (1-0). Maia Polonius (three) and Willow Wallman (two) scored the goals.

The team beat Stamford School 3-0 thanks to Wallman, Verity Valentine and Polonius, to secure a spot in the pool to decide the top four places.

Wallman’s goal led to The Perse beating Sevenoaks School 1-0 and a 3-1 win over Queenswood followed with Polonius, Rosabel Clarke and Wallman all on target.

Wallman secured regional honours for the team with the only goal in a 1-0 success against St Faith’s School.

Coach Nicky Bareham said: “The attitude and determination of the girls was superb and they should be immensely proud of what they have achieved.”
