Cambridgeshire youngsters score three centuries on the way to wins over Cricket East and Suffolk
Three centuries were scored as two of Cambridgeshire’s youth teams enjoyed victories at the weekend.
While there was plenty of impressive contributions during the Under-16 Boys’ win over their Suffolk counterparts in a two-day contest at Worlington, it was undoubtedly Seb Harrison’s match.
The Little Shelford player struck a chanceless 173 in the first innings and with Cambridgeshire needing 128 to win off 16 overs in the second innings, Harrison guided the team home with an unbeaten 64 off 45 balls for a combined aggregate of 237 runs.
Harrison also took three catches in the field, two in the outfield and one in the slips.
Elsewhere, Joel Johnson (101) and James Mitchell (124) both racked up three figures as the Under-14 Boys (331-3) posted a 168-run victory over Cricket East (163) at Burwell & Exning.
After the duo’s big-hitting performance, Cricket East started off slowly and were 35-0 after 15 overs.
Under-13 boys Sam Fisher (4-29) and Oscar Black (2-50) contributed to the bowling as the visitors were eventually bowled out for 163 after 44 overs.
Following their defeat of Sussex two weeks ago, the Under-14s have won two ECB Cup games in a row.
