Cambridge United to be subject of documentary made by American production company for CBS Sports

Cambridge United have signed an agreement with an American production company to air an initial three-part documentary series on CBS Sports at the start of 2025/26 season.

The series will consist of a trio of 30-minute episodes and provide the club with the opportunity to share its story initially with a US and Canadian audience, with the potential for a further series, as well as the sale of rights worldwide.

The episodes be shown as part of the CBS’ coverage of the EFL, which they have the broadcasting rights to in the USA until the end of 2027/28 season, with matches shown on Paramount+, CBS Sports Network and CBS Sports Golazo Network.

Filming is set to commence towards the end of the current campaign.

United’s CEO Alex Tunbridge said: “This is not the first opportunity of the kind we have been presented with, however, with the forthcoming rebrand and the recent changes to our football operations we believe now is the right time to share the Cambridge story overseas.

“We have a lot to be proud of as a club and as a city and we hope to use the CBS Sports platforms to educate and engage a new audience. CBS Sports have more than 50 million subscribers and we hope to be able to share a piece of Cambridge with as many of them as possible.

“Initially this will be a modest production in terms of scale and scope, although we hope to be able to continue filming and produce a further set of episodes which will tell the full story of the 2025/26 season, be this via CBS Sports or other worldwide platforms.”
