Cambridge United announce departure of women’s team manager Darren Marjoram after four years
Cambridge United Women have announced a parting of the ways with manager Darren Marjoram.
Marjoram’s eixt brings an end to his four-year stint at the helm, during which he has overseen the club retaining its fourth tier status each season, three county cup triumphs and a first appearance in a national final.
Former captain, Gisela Otten, who this month retired and has since joined the Women’s Board, said: “On behalf of the board and club owners, I would like to extend our sincere thanks to Darren for everything he has done in his time as manager of CUWFC. It is a period that has seen significant progress on-and-off the pitch and Darren has been at the heart of it.
“When Darren first arrived, the women’s side was still finding its footing within the broader structure of the club.
“Through his vision, commitment, and drive, he has helped build a strong culture and high professional standards that will serve as a great foundation for the next phase of our development.
“We are incredibly grateful for his dedication, care, energy, and the countless hours he has put in. His passion for the women’s game and the impact that sport can have in the wider community has always shone through. He will always be welcome at the Cledara Abbey Stadium.”
Coach Ben Yeomans and goalkeeper coach Sam Carrington have both agreed to remain with the club, while the process to appoint Marjoram’s replacement is now underway.
