Uche Ikpeazu fires Cambridge United to win over Chesterfield Town
U's end good week in style
Shaun Derry was delighted to emerge from a testing week with seven points after Cambridge United beat Chesterfield Town 2-1 in Sky Bet League Two last Saturday.
Chesterfield had taken the lead through Kristian Dennis in the 55th minute, but attacking midfielder Jevani Brown inspired United's comeback.
He equalised from a free kick in the 70th minute, and eight minutes later his effort after a good run was saved, but Uche Ikpeazu tucked home the rebound.
"As disappointed as we were with our first-half display, we did go in at 0-0 and we contained our 18-yard box very well, head coach Derry told the U's website.
"I think that just highlights that you've got to be consistent over 95 minutes, but it was a performance where we put a lot of pressure on the opposition goal. And we got the required result so it's been a decent return of points over the last week, which has been a difficult week.
"The travel to Lincoln; then the home win against Yeovil was a little bit closer than we all thought it should be; and once again against a team that has come in on the back of a really vibrant result away at Crawley."
United are away to Grimsby this Saturday (October 28).
