Cambridge United striker Brandon Njoku confirms departure after making 35 senior appearances
Brandon Njoku has confirmed that he is leaving Cambridge United.
While supporters await an official retained and released list from the club, the young striker has taken to social media to reveal that he will be moving on following the expiration of his contract in June.
Njoku wrote on Instagram: “To everyone at Cambridge United, thank you for an incredible four years.
“It has been a privilege to represent this club and be part of such a special group of people. I’ve made lifelong friends and memories I’ll always cherish.
“Cambridge will always hold a special place in my heart but it’s time for a new chapter.”
The 20-year-old has made a total of 35 senior appearances for the U’s, 28 of which came this season.
He scored twice for the club – once in the 4-4 draw with Blackpool last August, with his other goal coming in the FA Cup defeat to Wigan Athletic.
Njoku was also a key player in the Under-18s’ club-record run to the FA Youth Cup quarter-finals during the 2022/23 season.
