24th Histon Beer Festival under way

The 24th Histon Beer Festival is now under way, at the village’s Red Lion Pub.

Offering 60 different beers, most of which are local, and 18 different ciders, the event launched on Monday (2 September) and runs until Saturday (7 September), with support from Panther Taxis.

Festival committee member Colin Myles said yesterday (Tuesday): “It’s going very well, yesterday was as busy as it was on the Monday last year – and that was our record year.”

Colin notes that this Saturday will be the first time that the festival will run for the whole day, and that six bands will be performing throughout the day.

The Histon Beer Festival launched in 1997. One year it didn’t take place, and then it had a couple of years off due to Covid.
