Cast members from the ITV drama series Grantchester were spotted in the village of the same name filming scenes for the next series.

Tom Brittney, 30, who plays Reverend Will Davenport in the 1950s crime-fighting series, was spotted on set for the first time last Monday (August 9). Brittney is also making his directorial debut for series seven of the popular drama.

Tom, who took over from James Norton in the main role in series four, was seen checking the scenes as filming continued. He looked pleased to be back on set as he was spotted shooting a scene by the village church, and was even seen taking a selfie outside it.

He was joined on set by Robson Green, who plays Detective Geordie Keating, actress Tessa Peake-Jones, who plays Mrs Sylvia Maguire, and Al Weaver, who plays mild-mannered curate, Leonard Finch.
The series is based on The Grantchester Mysteries, collections of short stories written by James Runcie.
