André Rieu's annual summer Maastricht concert comes to Cambridge cinemas
This August, the enchanting Vrijthof Square will serve as the stage for André Rieu’s concert of the year, Waltz the Night Away, in his hometown of Maastricht.
André Rieu’s annual Maastricht concerts are renowned worldwide for their grandeur and musical spectacle and this year will mark 25 years since André began performing in Vrijthof Square with his illustrious Johann Strauss Orchestra.
Each year, up to 150,000 fans make the musical pilgrimage from all corners of the globe to the historic city of Maastricht to witness the King of the Waltz in action on a beautiful European summer evening.
Filled with timeless melodies, show-stopping waltzes and joyful emotion, Waltz the Night Away is to feature music such as Beautiful Blue Danube by Johann Strauss II, the rousing Radetzky March by Johann Strauss, and even a tender and emotional rendition of Elvis Presley’s Can’t Help Falling in Love.
The concert is set to open in more than 600 cinemas across the UK from 30 August, so people can enjoy this captivating show from the comfort of their local cinema, which in the Cambridge area include: The Light Cinema, Everyman Cambridge, and Cineworld Ely.
