The episode of Countryfile will be broadcast on BBC1 this coming Sunday (November 18) at 5.30pm and will see presenter Anita Rani visit Cambridgeshire for the 40th annual hedgelaying competition.

Anita will also meet Debbie, who will discuss how trees have influenced her artwork, and Debbie’s mum Daphne, a renowned painter of wildlife.

“The team came out to Hertfordshire to interview me and to see mum and her amazing garden,” says Debbie – “plus all the woodland that I grew up with.

“I was then filmed walking through Wandlebury with Anita talking about the trees there and what I was looking for to paint. The BBC crew were amazing and friendly, and they really wanted to help me get my message across about the importance of trees in our environment and why I paint them.”
