Cambridge band Standing Like Statues to perform special show
The alternative rockers will be appearing online for free tomorrow evening (Saturday, November 21) live from The Portland Arms.
20Hz, the new not-for-profit live streaming service, is helping to celebrate two new music releases. For the first in a series of shows, the team behind this content-based platform has been working alongside The Portland Arms to bring Standing Like Statues and Christian Smith to the stage and screen.
Celebrating the launch of their new EP, Reality Checkpoint, Cambridge band Standing Like Statues will be performing their unique brand of anthemic rock, supported by the Americana-inspired Christian Smith, who is also celebrating a new release in the shape of Renegade.
All profits from donations will go to supporting the venue and artists involved during these challenging times.
"We want to be there for the people that connect with our music," says Standing Like Statues vocalist Jamie Wiltshire. "We're coated in battle scars, but are still here fighting. It is so important to us that we support those that need it."
Steve Pellegrini, of The Portland Arms, Pelle Pub Co, added: “We’re excited to be hosting our first real gig since March and that it is friends of the venue, Standing Like Statues and Christian Smith, providing the much-needed entertainment.
"We look forward to continuing the partnership with everyone involved with more shows to be announced very soon.”
The live stream can be accessed for free from 7.30pm tomorrow (Saturday, November 21) on 20hz.com/events/standing-like-statues-live-6rcIyWEra.
