Cambridge-based guitarist Daniela Rossi to perform on streaming website, 60 Core
Argentinian classical guitarist Daniela Rossi will be playing music especially written for her by British composer Vincent Lindsey-Clark this Friday on 60 Core at 8pm (CEST).
The pieces she will perform include The New Folias, which Daniela recently premiered in a concert at Cambridge's Clare Hall. Written by Vincent Lindsey-Clark, The New Folias is based on the ancient themes Folia of Spain and Suite Americana.
Vincent Lindsey-Clark lives in Hampshire and also teaches at Eton, the University of Southampton, and London’s Centre for Young Musicians. He has spent the last year or so mostly composing, although he started The New Folias before lockdown.
“‘Folia’ means ‘folly’, or ‘madness’, a kind of dance that was done using madness as a background,” he explains.
Tickets for Daniela's virtual concert this Friday (May 28) are €5 and can be purchased at 60core.com/en/music/daniela-rossi-plays-music-by-british-composer-vincent-lindsey-clark-1/.
