Cambridge-based singer-songwriter Lorenza Wildcard to release new single ‘Take Me Home’
Cambridge-based singer-songwriter Lorenza Wildcard is to release her new single Take Me Home on 26 June.
“It’s a track I’m really proud of – a haunting rock ballad that grows from quiet vulnerability into emotional intensity,” says Lorenza.
“It radiates a sense of longing and inner strength, carried by reflective lyrics and a vocal performance that builds toward a cathartic crescendo.
“Set at 111 BPM, it features layered atmospheric guitars, steady drums, melodic bass lines, and aching vocal lines.
“Its spacious production creates a cinematic, emotionally-charged soundscape that lingers long after the final note.”
Lorenza, a former presenter on MTV, has released nine singles since 2023 – all of which charted on indie platforms and earned a few international award nominations. Take Me Home continues that journey.
Following the release of her second single, My Army, in 2023 (her debut effort You & I came out in 2021), Lorenza told the Cambridge Independent: “When I had my debut single out, I didn’t know how this was going to pan out, and it came as a surprise because the single came out and then suddenly I ended up on some radio stations and on charts – and I wasn’t expecting that...
“Then I had to think, ‘So what do I want to do? Do I want to do this as a career?’ And I decided that this is what I wanted to do.
“Little by little, I started to play at venues and people started to contact me, saying, ‘Do you need a guitarist?’ or ‘Do you need a drummer?’
“Before I knew it, I ended up basically having a band, which came as a total surprise to me.”
Originally from Italy, Lorenza released four singles in 2024: Love & Cuss, Rise & Ride, Fallen from My Tree, and Madhouse – all of which entered the indie charts.
She put out another, My Worth, in January this year.
She has also performed a number of gigs. Her next one is at the Troubadour in London on Friday, 11 July. Visit lorenzawildcard.com.
