Cambridge Rock Festival to make welcome return in 2022 after two years away
Having been forced to postpone in 2020 and 2021, the Cambridge Rock Festival (CRF) is to make a welcome return in 2022.
The family-friendly festival, which started in 2004, will be taking place for the first time at the East of England Showground in Peterborough on June 16-19.
The annual event has had nationally and internationally-known acts perform on its various stages, but has also taken the opportunity to promote new and local bands too – around 10 Cambridgeshire and Peterborough acts are set to appear next year.
The CRF has always been involved with the local community and is putting together deals that will benefit local charities in 2022 – especially health organisations, to whom we all owe so much after the last couple of years.
Ian Stuart, from CRF, said: “Having been forced to postpone for the last two years, all of us at CRF are really looking forward to our first festival – and 17th in total – at our new home, and hope to see both old friends who know us and new friends coming for the first time, because if there is one message we want to convey it is that all are welcome at the UK’s friendliest festival.”
Teddy Clemente of California rockers T Clemente Band, which is set to perform on the Friday, said: “We really miss this place, it’s our favourite place to play. We come 3,000 miles; it’s amazing and that’s why we come back.
“Looking forward to sharing the stage with these awesome artists and seeing our friends, the awesome staff members and audience across the pond.”
