Cambridgeshire Indian restaurant Classic Spice wins Chef of the Year at curry awards




Harun Miah of the Classic Spice Indian restaurant in Bottisham has won Chef of the Year in the East of England region at the 2021 Bangladeshi Caterers Association (BCA) Awards.

The ceremony, hosted by newsreader Samantha Simmonds and sports presenter Gary Newbon, was held on November 7 at InterContinental London – The O2. The BCA Awards are now in their 15th year and are highly regarded by the Bangladeshi curry industry.

The 11 winning chefs were chosen for their innovation, presentation of food, hygiene standards and customer service. The competing chefs participated in a live ‘cook-off’, from which the 11 winners were chosen.

Fozlu Miah of Classic Spice said: “Thank you to BCA and our customers. We are super proud to win BCA’s Chef of the Year Award for our region. We hope that people will come and experience our food; after such a tough time, we need people to support the British Bangladeshi curry industry.”
