Catalan theme this month at Cambridge Film Festival
The Cambridge Film Festival (CFF) at Home ‘Rewind’ season continues this month with a Catalan theme.
The season offers a ‘pay what you can afford’ pricing structure and each film can be viewed at watch.eventive.org/cffathome.
From July 16-22, Rewind will showcase three Catalan films: Black Bread (2010), The Marina Café (2014), and Fiction (2006 – CFF in 2014).
Ramon Lamarca, CFF Catalan film programmer, said: “Considered an area of transit, Catalonia’s culture has enriched itself over the centuries with other cultures and has always looked up north, towards the rest of Europe, for cultural exchange and to participate in most of the cultural movements with personalities like Gaudí, Miró or Dalí.
"It is therefore logical that cinema will also manifest the varied cultural mosaic of Catalonia, and this is what we have been showcasing over more than a decade at the Cambridge Film Festival, offering now a small selection online, which is a very good introduction to Catalan cinema.”
