City of Ely and Ely Cathedral Green Fair draws the crowds

The City of Ely and Ely Cathedral Green Fair, a free ‘fun family eco event’, took place last Saturday (27 July) at Ely Cathedral.

The third annual event showcased eco-friendly stalls selling homemade, locally-produced artisan products, as well as local beers and ciders.

Visitors were able to discover more about our local environmental groups, and there was also live entertainment and demonstrations.

Lisa Langley, of Cambridge Chainsaw Carving, and Ben Hudson, of Hudson Timber, operated a stall at the fair for the first time.

Lisa said the fair was “absolutely lovely” and that the weather helped. She added that a number of people were interested in her carvings and that she received some commissions as a result of her presence at the fair.

“It seemed to be very well-attended and it’s very well organised,” said Lisa, adding: “The variation of stalls at the show was really lovely.”
