Exclusive behind-the-scenes images as Saint Petersburg Classic Ballet brings Tchaikovsky trilogy to Cambridge
The trilogy has been on at the Corn Exchange this week, with the Saint Petersburg Classic Ballet performing The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake.
The Cambridge Independent's photographer was given exclusive behind-the-scenes access as the company, under the direction of Marina Medvetskaya and backed by a full orchestra, prepared to bring a taste of imperial Russia to the UK.
The trilogy began on Sunday (December 29) with The Nutcracker, which ran until Tuesday, December 31.
It then continued on Wednesday and yesterday (Thursday) with three performances of The Sleeping Beauty.
Completing the set will be Swan Lake tonight (Friday) at 7pm and tomorrow (Saturday) at 2pm and 7pm.
A venue spokesperson said: “The Saint Petersburg Classic Ballet is one of the highlights of the year at the Corn Exchange, making Christmas in Cambridge particularly special.
"The excitement and anticipation of families waiting to take their seats fills the venue, continuing the festive period through to the new year.
“We’re delighted to welcome back this acclaimed company of dancers all the way from Russia, giving spellbinding performances of seasonal classics.”
