Acclaimed English indie-folk singer/songwriter Frank Turner has been added to the bill, along with his band The Sleeping Souls.

The 35-year-old from Hampshire made his Cambridge debut in 2008 with a completely new take on English folk, fuelled by the intense energy that marked him out as frontman of his post-punk band, Million Dead.

Turner is a hugely popular name at Cambridge, and makes a timely return following his last appearance in 2015 where he performed a solo set.

The Sleeping Souls consist of Ben Lloyd (guitar, mandolin), Tarrant Anderson (bass), Matt Nasir (piano) and Nigel Powell (drums).

The Cambridge Folk Festival is held over four days in the grounds of Cherry Hinton Hall and this years runs from July 27 to 30.
