Situated on Parker’s Piece, the site, which launched on Saturday (November 16) and which includes an ice rink and an ‘Alpine Cabin Bar’, is free to enter – although visitors are charged for skating sessions.

Alongside the ice rink and bar are stalls, family funfair rides, extreme rides and a separate children’s zone.

“We were delighted to welcome back festive fun-seekers in droves to Parker’s Piece as the North Pole returned to the city last weekend,” said Kate Karagholi, marketing director of the Arena Group which runs the North Pole.

“As well as enjoying ice skating under our clear skies roof, visitors enjoyed festive treats at Cambridge’s very own winter wonderland.

“Open until January 5, our Alpine Bar, chalet food stalls and funfair will get you feeling Christmassy.”
