In pictures: Cambridge Town & Country Fair draws the crowds to Parker’s Piece
The Cambridge Town & Country Fair drew large crowds to Parker’s Piece with its mixture of stalls, entertainment and rides.
The free annual event, held over last weekend (8-9 June) featured exhibitors with arts and crafts, fashion and beauty, food and drink, gifts and household accessories, plus outdoor and garden items – as well as the unique and uncategorisable.
Among those exhibiting were Amabilia Creations, Becky Alexander Print, Cambridge Artisan Cheese, Cambridge Pentacle Magic Club, Cambscrafts and Cambs Antique Centre.
Charlie Owen, of event organiser Charlie Owen Events, said: “It went very well and we had decent weather.
“There was a wonderful stunt bike man on Sunday and wonderful equestrian displays as well. We also had a music tent – by Cambridge Dutchbikes on Saturday and The Flying Pig Stage on Sunday.”
Charlie observed that the fair was “very busy on Saturday afternoon and mightily busy on Sunday”, and said there was a “very good representation of crafts and outside stalls”.
He added: “People love it. We’ve got people who’ve been coming for 15 years and sometimes I get told off if one of their favourite traders hasn’t booked for this year!”
Charlie concluded by thanking Cambridge City Council “for their continued support”. “They make it nice and easy,” he said.
Charlie Owen Events will also be bringing the Craft & Food Fair – also known as the Cambridge Autumn Shopping Fair – to the same location on the weekend of 21-22 September.
