There were hugs and tears all round as the stars of the long-running Grantchester TV series – filmed in the village and around Cambridge – shot their final scenes.
The show, which is broadcast on ITV, is coming to an end after 11 years.

Cast members spotted filming on Grantchester Meadows included Robson Green, who has been in the series from the start, fellow original cast members, Kacey Ainsworth, who plays his wife Cathy, Al Weaver (Leonard Finch), and Tessa Peake-Jones, who portrays Mrs Chapman.
They were seen shooting scenes with Rishi Nair, who joined the programme in series nine playing Alphy Kottaram, the new vicar who replaced Tom Brittney’s character, Will Davenport.

Green, 60, who plays Detective Geordie Keating, looked emotional as he walked across Grantchester Meadows for one last time, with his arm around the shoulders of Rishi Nair.
Green said recently that the cast and crew had become “like family” and their bond had extended “far beyond the camera lens”.

Happy Valley star James Norton starred as the series’ original vicar, Sidney Chambers, from 2014 to 2019, before Tom Brittney joined as the new vicar, Will Davenport. He was later replaced by Nair’s character.
In the final series, Alphy will learn more about his past and will continue to get to know the bishop’s daughter, Meg.
Elsewhere, the chief superintendent comes to Geordie with a tempting offer that could also mean an end to his crime-solving partnership with Alphy.
