This was the 48th rally and featured an array of stationary engines, vintage tractors and lorries, classic cars and an old tyme fair, among around 600 exhibits.

Among the new attractions was a special display from Marshall, Sons & Co tractors, while popular YouTube figure Trucker Tim was also present for the first time.

Ruth Young, rally secretary, estimated between 8,000 and 10,000 people visited. “It was very, very hot but we still had a really good crowd come through,” she said.

“Everybody who came was really pleased with the exhibits that we had.”

Competitors came from all over the country to compete in the 34th heavy horse show on Sunday. Ruth, who thanked all of the volunteers and helpers, noted that the fair had something from everyone – and the Wall of Death was certainly a popular attraction.

The work to organise the 2024 event will begin soon. The fair does not make a profit, with most of the proceeds going to charity.
