Legendary folk singer Shirley Collins, chart-topping English country twin-sister duo Ward Thomas and international superstar Olivia Newton-John are just three of the big names who have been added to the bill at this year’s Cambridge Folk Festival, held every year at Cherry Hinton Hall.

Shirley Collins, Indigo Girls – whose influential career spans almost four decades – and chart-toppers Ward Thomas are all part of a completely female line-up on Main Stages One and Two on the Friday, while Olivia Newton-John (who is originally from Cambridge), Grammy nominee Beth Nielsen Chapman and SOCAN Award-winner Amy Sky bring their unique collaboration ‘Liv On’ exclusively to the festival on Saturday evening.

Acclaimed US singer/songwriter Loudon Wainwright III promises to deliver another awe-inspiring set on the Sunday.

Joining these and the acts already revealed earlier in the year (Jake Bugg, Oysterband, Lau, featuring Kris Drever, Martin Green and Aidan O’Rourke and Hayseed Dixie) will be a slew of other artists, some new to the festival and others old hands.

They include: The Furrow Collective (featuring Rachel Newton), Lucy Farrell, Emily Portman and Alasdair Roberts, Rachel Newton, The Rheingans Sisters, Orphan Colours, Talisk, The Eskies, Brian McNeill, She Drew the Gun, Worry Dolls and She Shanties, a 12-strong female shanty band.

Guest Curator Jon Boden will perform over the weekend with The Remnant Kings to preview his autumn 2017 album, as well as guest curating elements of the line-up. More acts to be announced.

Tickets are on sale now. Full ticket: £167, day tickets: £27.50 (Thu), £59.50 (Fri), £70 (Sun). Please note Saturday day tickets are sold out.

The Cambridge Folk Festival will take place from July 27 to 30, 2017.
