Music in the Parks returns to Cambridge for summer 2025
One of the city’s favourite summer traditions makes a welcome return in June when Music in the Parks begins, celebrating the season in musical style in some of Cambridge’s beautiful green open spaces.
The six-concert series is free and open to all, taking place on selected Sunday afternoons between 3-5pm from June until September.
Organised by Cambridge City Council, the music events are generously supported by Cambridge BID.
Project manager, Jenny Granshaw, said: “Summertime in Cambridge sees the city at its very best!
“An abundance of beautiful open spaces, from historic greens and parks to recreation grounds, help make the city the unique place it is.
“During these precious summer months, the Music in the Parks concerts are a perfect way to really make the most of them; to enjoy a relaxing time outdoors listening to live music in the company of friends and family.”
The series of six free concerts offers a wide variety of music, from the infectious ska rhythms of Cambridge’s Big 10, performing their now traditional Jesus Green date, to funk, soul and blues and uplifting multi-voiced close harmony choral creations.
Visitors can also enjoy jazz and swing, traditional brass, and, as part of Folk in the City, a special folk music-themed concert at Cherry Hinton Hall with The Boxwood Chessmen – a semi-acoustic four-piece from East Anglia and Middlesex – and award-winning indie-folk duo Elizabeth and Jameson.
Refreshments will be available to buy from NapolEat Pizza, Aperol van and Cambridge favourite, Jack’s Gelato.
